Anonymous, structure-only, and easy to turn off. Here is exactly what Lacis collects.
What is collected
Tree shape (node/branch counts, depth), token counts, model/provider IDs, and which
features you use — all as plain numbers and labels. One anonymous identifier: your
editor's machineId. That's it.
What is never collected
Message content, prompts, replies, conversation titles, tags, context-branch text, file paths or contents, API keys, and provider URLs. Never.
Your two switches
Nothing is sent unless both your editor's global telemetry setting and
the lacis.telemetry.enabled toggle are on (default on). Turn either off and
collection stops immediately.
The instrumentation isn't obfuscated. The full event-by-event list ships with the
extension in TELEMETRY.md.
